Edwards moves Building Blocks   Aug 24 2009

Edwards & Co has acquired ‘The Gallery’ 61 Oxford Street in Manchester city centre on behalf of fast-growing web technology consultants, Building Blocks.

The two year old company which develops technology solutions for well known brands Butlins, RSPB and British Dental Association, has outgrown its previous serviced office space and will move into ‘The Gallery’ upon completion of the building’s refurbishment.

Edwards & Co has acquired the 3,902 sq ft self-contained suite at the Bruntwood-owned former cotton mill. The entire building has recently undergone an extensive contemporary refurbishment project to restore the traditional features and create a new modern reception.

Due for completion in August this year, Building Blocks’ office, which has its own frontage on Portland Street, is undergoing a bespoke fit out, including a mezzanine floor, atrium-style glass ceiling and a ‘chill out’ area.

Jonathan Whiteside, director at Building Blocks, comments, “61 Oxford Street was strikingly different to everything else we looked at, whilst fitting our needs exactly. The period building, its prominent frontage and impressive interior represents what we’re about and gives our clients and staff the desired impression and great working environment. Its city centre location and nearby transport links were key to our search to suit our staff travelling to work and throughout the country visiting clients. We’re excited about our imminent move and look forward to filling the space as the company continues to grow this year.”

WHR Property Consultants and Edwards & Co are joint agents on 61 Oxford Street.
